Obituary for
Ines Crisa (Giannattasio)
There is no greater love then the love of a Mother. Our mom, Ines was an amazing loving giving
women who was the strongest person we know. Mom was a fighter, never complained and
truly loved to live her life in any capacity she knew. Born in Throgs Neck, NY on June 17 th 1931,
she was the second born, daughter of our late grandmother, Josephine Giannattasio. Our mom
Ines, is survived by her brother, Ralph and sisters, Lillian and Theresa by her two children, Jo
Ann and Anthony as well as her grandchildren, David and Michael as well as many nieces and
nephews and their young children.
Our mother was a wonderful loving caring thoughtful hardworking compassionate women.
Though she suffered with bodily ailments her entire life, she never complained, always smiled
and always made sure to lend encouragement and love for her children and especially her
grandchildren. She was a loving big sister who stayed in touch with her siblings and loved to talk
about their child hood and the many wonderful experiences they shared in their lives as a
family. She loved her friends, had many child hood girl-friends whom she loved and kept in
contact with until her death. She loved to read, and even though she recently experienced eye
sight issues, she made sure her Grandson David bought her a new book to read every few
weeks. Mom loved to spend as much time with her family. She loved her siblings and love
sharing the holidays with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their children as
well. We recently just celebrated her 85 th birthday in July and had such great memories to hold
deep in our hearts.
Throughout her long life, she was a kind and generous person who had a passion for giving to
her favorite charities. Even though mom survived breast cancer and had suffered so much from
polio, she believed in giving to the many charities she held close to her heart. Mom suffered
with pain, she never complained, remained strong and never wanted any of us to focus on her
issues. She truly loved to live and showed us so much love every minute of her life. She was our
rock, and we thank you mom, for everything you did for me, my brother and our children. We
could never ask for a “better mother or a role model”. You taught us how important family is,
you taught us how to be patient with each other, how important our work ethic is, and how
remaining positive can help us get through life’s biggest challenges. I can only hope as your
daughter, that I can continue your legacy and keep you alive in our daily routines and always
keep your memory alive. We love you so much and wish that we had more time together. We
will cherish all of the great memories we had and we will carry your values and lust for life with
us forever. We will miss you and love you forever!
